Voice recognition AI startup Return Zero said on the 25th that it is revamping its service and making VITO’s call recording transcription feature free to expand the customer experience.

VITO was the first in the industry to introduce a feature that converts call recordings into text in April last year. Until now, it let users review their 20 most recent calls and offered various membership benefits through a monthly subscription. VITO has decided to make its core service completely free so anyone can access voice recognition AI without barriers.

Services will also be available for call recordings made before the free-service revamp. Existing Basic members will receive additional coins that can be used to transcribe past calls. Existing Premium members will receive a coupon for 12 months of free access to a 300 GB cloud plan. Any remaining paid subscription periods will be handled in stages under Google’s refund and cancellation policies.

VITO is an Android-only app that uses AI to convert call recordings into text. In less than a year since launch, it has processed more than 100 million calls and surpassed 480,000 downloads. VITO plans to launch a service later this year that converts audio files into text and displays them like messenger chats on iOS and the web. The company expects more customers will have the opportunity to use VITO’s technology for free.

“We prepared this service revamp and made the product free so that more people can use VITO more easily and quickly in their daily lives,” said Lee Chamsol, CEO of Return Zero. “We will continue to advance our technology and drive innovation in the market with voice recognition AI that gets smarter the more it is used.”
