Yulhyeon Food announced on the 9th that its franchise brand, Haeundae Yeontan Saenggalbi, has signed a contract for its first location in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and will officially open in March. The announcement coincided with a content collaboration shoot featuring a well-known celebrity.

Haeundae Yeontan Saenggalbi is a value-focused Korean beef restaurant with an old-school feel, serving high-quality beef at affordable prices. It uses briquettes, which were widely used in the 1980s, to evoke a retro atmosphere and impart a smoky flavor. The briquettes are patented and designed to minimize gas odors and other unpleasant smells. Since opening its first location in 2022, the brand has gained momentum, with contracts signed for a total of 45 locations.

Yulhyeon Food attributed this rapid growth within a year to its affordable supply of Korean beef graded 1+ or higher, as well as its house-made sauces and side dishes, including Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap, spicy Korean beef ramen, and Korean beef radish soup.

With its Korean flavors and atmosphere in Vietnam, Haeundae Yeontan Saenggalbi is joining the K-food boom and preparing to open its second location there.

Lee Mu-young, CEO of Haeundae Yeontan Saenggalbi, said, “Keeping pace with the Korean Wave, we aim to bring both K-food and Korean culture overseas. With our first location in Ho Chi Minh City, we’re making progress on our international expansion, and we’ll work to grow into a global brand by entering other Southeast Asian markets, including the Philippines and Malaysia. We hope you’ll look forward to and support Haeundae Yeontan Saenggalbi’s next steps.”
