The New Jersey Chapter of the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations (World-OKTA) held its 2025 year-end gathering and inauguration ceremony for its fourth president on Dec. 4 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Fort Lee.

About 80 people attended, including leaders of key partner organizations such as the KOTRA New York Trade Center, the Small and Medium Business Corporation’s New York Global Business Center (GBC), and the New York Korean American Chamber of Commerce, as well as local community figures. Hwang Sun-young, who led the chapter as its second and third president, stepped down, and Han Dong-wook officially took office as its fourth president.

In his inaugural remarks, Han said, “I thank my predecessor for her dedication,” adding, “I will do my best to represent World-OKTA’s values in the community and help the New Jersey Chapter grow further.”

The event featured congratulatory videos from World-OKTA Chairman Park Jong-beom and chapters around the world, including those in Los Angeles, the Dominican Republic, Nagoya and Istanbul. In the second half, singer-songwriter Shin Joo-won gave a special jazz performance that drew an enthusiastic response.

As it wrapped up 2025, the New Jersey Chapter pledged to continue its steady growth under its new president.
