Gyeongsangbuk-do delegation visits the chamber’s New Jersey branch, securing a gateway for engagement in the eastern United States
Mutually beneficial cooperation between a South Korean local government and the Korean American business community in the eastern United States is set to grow stronger. On the 28th, a Gyeongsangbuk-do International Relations and Trade Division delegation made a special visit to the New Jersey branch of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Greater New York to discuss a range of cooperation opportunities spanning business, culture, and tourism.
Attendees from the Gyeongsangbuk-do provincial government included International Relations and Trade Division Director Oh Tae-heon, International Trade Team Leader Lim Heung-sik, and Los Angeles Office Director Kim Seok-ki. Chamber President Moon Jo and other senior officers joined them to explore practical strategies for mutual growth.
The two sides agreed to promote Gyeongsangbuk-do’s outstanding cultural and tourism infrastructure to Korean Americans in the United States and to actively support Gyeongsangbuk-do companies’ entry into the U.S. market, using the eastern region’s strong Korean American business network as a gateway.
Director Oh Tae-heon expressed high hopes for cooperation with the New York–New Jersey area, a key hub of the eastern U.S. economy. In response, President Moon Jo said, "The chamber will play a strong supporting role to help promising companies and resources from Gyeongsangbuk-do establish a stable presence in the United States."
