FuturePlay announced on the 4th that it had hosted a networking event bringing together robotics graduate students and faculty from leading Korean universities and robotics startups to share startup strategies and industry trends and discuss hiring.
The event was held on the 3rd at FuturePlay’s office in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. It was organized by FuturePlay and Professor Moon Hyung-pil of Sungkyunkwan University, with support from Sungkyunkwan University’s Robotics Research Institute, the Logistics Robotics Research Group of the Korea Robotics Society, and auto parts maker Mando.
The event brought together Korean and international robotics startups, graduate students and professors from leading Korean universities, and aspiring entrepreneurs. Representatives from robotics startups growing with FuturePlay—including Neubility, Luxrobo, AIDIN Robotics, Toolspace, Motion2AI, WATT, Future Kitchen, and Lounge Lab—shared firsthand insights from the startup scene.
Graduate students researching robotics and aspiring entrepreneurs also learned about robotics trends and gathered industry information, as well as hearing about the various startup support programs offered by FuturePlay.
FuturePlay plans to expand its robotics startup network through the event and contribute to the development of Korea’s robotics ecosystem. The event gave robotics startups the opportunity to recruit outstanding talent, while FuturePlay helped connect promising aspiring entrepreneurs with highly skilled professionals, creating the potential for strong synergies.
Professor Moon Hyung-pil of Sungkyunkwan University said, “I hope this networking event will help graduate student developers working with cutting-edge robotics technologies find valuable partners to bring their ideas to life, gain new perspectives on the market, and draw on the experiences of startup founders who have gone before them to help build a thriving robotics startup ecosystem.” He added, “I hope future events like this will be linked with entrepreneurship education at universities and the research group activities of the Korea Robotics Society, the country’s largest research organization, and become a beacon for startup success.”
FuturePlay CEO Ryu Jung-hee said, "Many university labs in Korea conduct robotics research at a world-class level. We organized this event because we believe that turning these research achievements into concrete businesses through startup formation would benefit many graduate students and faculty members, as well as the growth of Korea’s startup ecosystem."
