TableManager, an AI-powered reservation solutions startup, announced that it has secured a strategic investment of KRW 2 billion from KT.

TableManager was selected in April as a joint partner for KT’s “AI Call Assistant” business and has been co-developing a feature to automate phone reservations. In August, the companies launched an updated AI Call Assistant incorporating the feature. The service uses AI to answer calls to businesses. When customers call a business’s landline, the AI responds automatically using a script configured in the AI Call Assistant app.

The automated phone reservation feature combines KT’s speech recognition technology with TableManager’s proprietary “The Reservation API.” Previously, the AI Call Assistant could recognize the content of incoming calls and take reservation requests, but staff had to confirm bookings manually. With The Reservation API, AI analyzes calls in real time, checks availability according to the business’s operating rules—such as party size and reservation time—and confirms bookings automatically. The service can also integrate with external reservation platforms offered through portals and messaging apps, in addition to business phone lines.

Businesses can process reservations automatically without additional staff or steps, helping them manage bookings systematically while reducing employees’ workload. The number of businesses subscribing to the AI Call Assistant has grown rapidly since its launch and is expected to increase even faster by year-end, supported by KT’s active marketing.

Through this investment, TableManager and KT plan to strengthen the technological competitiveness of their services by expanding cooperation across their respective businesses. In particular, they aim to enhance the AI Call Assistant and drive growth by expanding into new industries.

“KT and TableManager jointly own the business rights to the AI Call Assistant with its new features, which is unprecedented in collaboration between a startup and a large company,” said TableManager CEO Choi Hoon-min. “Through our partnership with KT, we plan to expand beyond restaurants into other sectors that need reservations, including real estate and beauty businesses.”

“This investment is significant because it brings a large company and a startup together to develop services for small businesses,” said Choi Jun-ki, head of KT’s AI/BigData Business Division. “Our collaboration will create synergies in the AI Call Assistant business, and we will build a digital ecosystem for business management through ongoing service enhancements based on our technological capabilities.”
