TimePercent, which is developing TradingBank, a trading platform for virtual asset investment strategies, announced on the 12th that it had raised a seed round from FuturePlay, D.CAMP, Choi Seong-ho, a former NAVER vice president who now serves as CEO, and major virtual asset exchanges. The investment amount was not disclosed.
TradingBank lets users create and trade virtual asset investment strategies. Users can analyze the virtual asset chart data provided by TradingBank to develop their own strategies, then sell them or buy strategies created by others.
Users can also run simulated investments for each strategy and assess its effectiveness through backtesting, which estimates the returns it would have generated in the past. They can also use a 24-hour automated trading bot based on strategies they have created or purchased.
TradingBank aims to become a trading platform that brings together domestic and international virtual asset and stock quant investing. Quant investing involves developing trading strategies based on quantitative, objective indicators provided by brokerages or companies. TradingBank aims to give anyone the tools to create quant strategies based on reliable data, test and automate them easily, and share the results transparently.
“We are the team best equipped to use technology to address inefficiencies and information asymmetry in traditional financial investment markets,” said TimePercent CEO Jang Gi-byeok. “We believe TimePercent will be at the center of a financial paradigm shift that fundamentally changes how individual investors invest.”
Mo Sang-hyun, an investor at FuturePlay, which participated in the round, said, “Virtual asset investing requires systematic trading because of price volatility and 24-hour trading, making trading bots an essential feature and piece of infrastructure going forward. TimePercent offers high accuracy in aligning backtesting results with trading bot performance. Domestic and international virtual asset exchanges are also adopting policies favorable to trading platform partners, creating opportunities for rapid market entry and expansion. These factors led us to invest.”
