Brave Turtles raises pre-Series A bridge funding from FuturePlay

Metaverse content creator startup Brave Turtles announced on the 22nd that it had raised a pre-Series A bridge investment from FuturePlay. The latest funding follows a pre-seed round earlier this year; the amount was not disclosed.

Brave Turtles is a game studio specializing in metaverse and social games. Its mission is to connect, engage and entertain people through metaverse games. Late last month, it successfully launched Runway Z, a new fashion tournament battle world, on the metaverse platform Zepeto.

In Runway Z, users style their avatars around different fashion themes and send them down the runway. Players vote to decide the winner. The game supports multiplayer for up to eight people, as well as social features that let users communicate and build relationships.

Runway Z attracted 1 million visitors within a week of launch, the highest traffic of any Zepeto world during that period. Three weeks after launch, it had drawn more than 4 million visitors, reflecting its strong popularity. It has also recorded the longest gameplay time per user among Zepeto worlds and a very high return rate, establishing itself as one of the platform’s most popular worlds.

To celebrate reaching 1 million visitors, Brave Turtles is running various events for all Zepeto users, including a giveaway of five items created in collaboration with popular Zepeto creator LENGE. The company plans to introduce new seasons every six weeks, featuring fresh content, events and reward items, to help the world remain popular with Zepeto users over the long term.
