Hyundai Motor Group said it held the 8th Mobility Innovators Forum 2023 on the 2nd at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco.

The Mobility Innovators Forum brings together innovators, startups, government officials and investors from across the mobility industry to exchange ideas. First held at Stanford University in 2016, the event marked its eighth edition this year.

Held under the theme “Re-Vision & Re-Value,” the forum offered an opportunity to reflect on the vision and value of the mobility industry and share insights on human-centered mobility innovation.

The forum was organized by CRADLE, Hyundai Motor Group’s Silicon Valley innovation hub.

Hyundai Motor Group has established CRADLE innovation hubs in five countries—the United States, Germany, Israel, China and Singapore—to identify promising startups around the world. In Korea, it operates ZER01NE, a platform for open innovation.

Speakers included Hyundai Motor Group Senior Vice President Kim Heung-soo, who leads the Global Strategy Office; Marc Raibert, CEO of Boston Dynamics AI Institute; Ken Goldberg, roboticist and professor at the University of California, Berkeley; and Gary Silberg, KPMG’s global head of automotive.

Experts from a range of fields also discussed topics including robotics, autonomous driving, the role of software developers in the future of mobility, entrepreneurship and investment strategies for future mobility.

Hyundai Motor Group also set up startup booths where domestic and international startups it collaborates with or invests in could showcase innovative technologies and products and connect with attendees.

In his opening remarks, Hyundai Motor Group Senior Vice President Kim Heung-soo said, “The forum’s theme, Re-Vision & Re-Value, represents the journey we are all taking as we look back on the past and toward the future. Today’s forum will give participants a chance to challenge their own visions and ask questions.”
