Genesis unveiled the GV70 Graphite Edition (known locally as the GV70 Prestige Graphite) on April 1 at the 2026 New York International Auto Show, held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.
Genesis also presented the G90 Wingback Concept, first shown at the Magma World Premiere in southern France last November, in North America for the first time. A scale model of the GMR-001 Hypercar, set to compete in global endurance racing this year, was also on display, showcasing the brand’s vision for luxury performance.
GV70 Graphite Edition adds a sportier edge
The newly unveiled GV70 Graphite Edition is the second Graphite Edition model from Genesis, following the G70 Graphite Edition. It brings the sporty character praised in the G70 to the popular GV70 SUV, with exclusive interior and exterior design elements that set it apart from the existing lineup.
Exclusive design details in dark, striking tones give the GV70 Graphite Edition a more dynamic look. 21-inch dark metallic gloss alloy wheels and exclusive red brake calipers underscore its performance-oriented character.
Gloss-black side mirrors add to its sporty appearance, while dark chrome and gloss-black exterior accents refine the GV70’s distinctive styling.
Inside, Ultra Marine Nappa leather seats with suede accents create a calm yet sporty atmosphere. A Genesis logo embossed on the headrests adds to the Graphite Edition’s distinctive character.
New carbon-pattern trim completes the dynamic cabin, while exclusive welcome and goodbye animations on the display offer drivers a distinctive experience.
At the New York International Auto Show, Genesis created a “Graphite Zone” in its booth, displaying the GV70 and G70 Graphite Editions so visitors could experience the sporty appeal of the Graphite Edition lineup across sedans and SUVs.
Details such as pricing and the on-sale date for the GV70 Graphite Edition will be announced at a later date.
G90 Wingback Concept: flagship evolution expands the brand’s possibilities
Genesis presented the G90 Wingback Concept in North America for the first time at the New York Auto Show.
First unveiled last November at the Magma World Premiere, held to mark the brand’s 10th anniversary, the G90 Wingback Concept retains the long wheelbase and overall length of the G90 flagship sedan while exploring the potential of a new vehicle type: the grand tourer wagon.
At the front, the signature Genesis Crest Grille and two-line headlamps are more pronounced, preserving the car’s refinement while giving it a more aggressive stance. Large lower air intakes on both sides of the bumper flow naturally into the canard wings.

The arcing “Parabolic Line” along the side carries over the G90’s long wheelbase and subtly extends the roofline to create a sleek wagon silhouette. Two rear spoilers and a diffuser add a sporty touch at the back.
The deep green exterior color and bespoke 22-inch wheels express a refined evolution of the Magma identity. Inside, quilted suede sport seats feature green Magma stitching and Magma logos, underscoring the car’s identity as a luxury performance vehicle.
Luc Donckerwolke, President and Chief Design Officer (CDO) and Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of Hyundai Motor Group’s Global Design Division, said, “The G90 Wingback Concept is a central pillar of both Magma and the One of One program. Through the Magma program, we will continue to introduce models that harmoniously combine elegance and strength.”

Booth showcases luxury performance vision and anticipation for WEC debut season
Genesis is presenting the vision for its high-performance program, Genesis Magma, in dedicated “Magma” and “Magma Racing” zones. The booth features the GV60 Magma, the program’s first production model, and a racing simulator where visitors can experience the world of Genesis Magma Racing firsthand.
Also on display is a 1:2 scale model of the GMR-001 Hypercar, which will make its debut this year in the Hypercar class of the World Endurance Championship (WEC), the world’s premier endurance racing series, building anticipation for the brand’s motorsports challenge.
Genesis’ racing team, Genesis Magma Racing, will compete in every WEC round this year, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In September, the team will also race in the United States at Lone Star Le Mans in Austin, Texas.
To give visitors a chance to take part in Genesis Magma Racing’s journey, the booth will host a contest awarding a trip to Lone Star Le Mans to the visitor who sets the fastest time on the racing simulator.
At the New York Auto Show, which runs through Sunday, April 12, Genesis has prepared a 1,063-square-meter (approximately 11,442-square-foot) exhibition space and will display 10 vehicles, including the GV70 Graphite Edition.
In addition to the Graphite, Magma and Magma Racing zones, the exhibition space includes themed areas such as the Prestige Black Zone, featuring the Genesis Black lineup, and the Genesis Collection, showcasing merchandise across themes including golf and Magma.
Genesis also plans to offer visitors Korean traditional sweets and host an interactive experience with Spot, Boston Dynamics’ quadruped robot, giving them a chance to experience the brand’s distinctive values and hospitality.
Meanwhile, as part of Hyundai Motor Group’s $26 billion investment plan in the United States, Genesis plans to launch 22 new or significantly updated models in North America by 2030. The brand aims to accelerate its growth in the region by expanding its core lineup, diversifying powertrains and broadening its trim offerings.
