Canada-based global e-commerce company Shopify said on the 10th that it launched its official Korean-language website in June and will work with Punch Digital Marketing, its official partner for entering the Korean market, to help Korean users attract more customers both domestically and internationally.
More than 1 million digital merchants worldwide use Shopify’s platform. In 2019 alone, they sold $61 billion worth of products. Shopify also provided $106 million in cash advances and loans in the first quarter of 2020, an 85% jump from $87 million in the same quarter last year.
Shopify’s Korean-language site offers local payment gateway services, fulfillment services, and customer service.
In March, local payment gateway provider KG Inicis and Shopify announced that they would offer international currency payment services. The two companies have had a strategic partnership since last year. They also plan to help Korean digital merchants sell their products effectively on Shopify’s platform. In addition to KG Inicis, merchants can accept electronic payments through Eximbay and Paymentwall Korea.
Shopify also established a fulfillment service called 6 River Systems a few months ago. The end-to-end solution automates logistics services. Korean company Solugate also provides Shopify users with AI-powered customer service in multiple languages.
