Save & Co., which operates intimate cosmetics brand Save, announced on the 14th the launch of Save Natural Foaming Feminine Wash. Following Save Premium Condoms, made with health-conscious ingredients free of harmful substances, the company is continuing its efforts to build a women’s health-focused sexual wellness market with a new vulvar cleanser made from naturally derived ingredients.
South Korea’s feminine wash market is worth 50 billion won and has grown by more than 10% annually on average over the past five years. In response, companies ranging from major corporations to emerging brands have launched products in the category, intensifying competition. Save is entering the market with a focus on healthy, safe ingredients.
Because feminine wash is used on delicate, sensitive areas, its ingredients are especially important. Most products contain glycerin as a moisturizer, but research suggests glycerin can damage and irritate vaginal or anal epithelial tissue, potentially increasing the risk of sexually transmitted infections or vaginitis. Its use therefore warrants caution.
Save Natural Foaming Feminine Wash is a glycerin-free cleanser featuring a mildly acidic foam formula made with just 10 ingredients, 99.66% of which are naturally derived. It is also free of artificial fragrances and colorants that can cause skin allergies, as well as seven harmful ingredients, including animal-derived ingredients, parabens, silicones and phenoxyethanol. Only ingredients rated EWG (Environmental Working Group) Green are used.
Save Natural Foaming Feminine Wash also contains Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate and cranberry extract, which support women’s vaginal and urinary tract health by helping maintain a healthy vaginal environment and skin balance. Apple water, which makes up 51.22% of the formula, is a certified organic ingredient under the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety’s standards for natural and organic cosmetics. It helps prevent dryness in delicate areas, provides rich moisture and soothes the skin.
A Save brand representative said, "This vegan-formula product is made with safe, naturally derived ingredients with women in mind. We expect it to meet the needs of consumers who prioritize safe vulvar care."
