Samsung Electronics will unveil its residential EHS heat pump at CES 2025, the world’s largest consumer electronics show, opening in Las Vegas on Jan. 7, as it steps up its push into the U.S. HVAC market.
EHS products provide underfloor heating and hot water for residential and commercial buildings. By using ambient heat and electricity to produce hot water, they are more efficient and emit less carbon than fossil-fuel boilers.
Samsung Electronics sells its residential EHS heat pumps in more than 40 European countries and plans to expand into the U.S. market next year.
The EHS products planned for the U.S. market include two indoor units: the Climate Hub Mono, equipped with a dedicated 200-liter water tank, and the compact, wall-mounted Hydro Unit Mono; and one outdoor unit, the Mono R32 HT Quiet.
※ Detailed specifications, including features and performance, may change during mass production and launch.
Both indoor units feature a 7-inch touchscreen powered by AI Home.
AI Home lets users intuitively check and control product functions, as well as other connected devices in the home.
Users can also adjust indoor temperatures through 3D Map View. For homes with photovoltaic (PV) systems, linking a PV module to SmartThings makes it easy to monitor solar energy use.
The two indoor units combine a premium, minimalist design with a slim 600-millimeter depth that blends well with built-in furniture.
The wall-mounted Hydro Unit Mono can be installed in a range of spaces, such as kitchens and laundry rooms, even in homes without a separate utility room.
The Mono R32 HT Quiet outdoor unit combines powerful performance with a refined design that complements a building’s exterior.
Its energy efficiency is designed to exceed the top SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance) A+++ rating by 10%. It uses R32 refrigerant, whose global warming potential (GWP) is 32% that of the R410 refrigerant used in existing systems.
The unit can supply hot water at up to 70°C for heating and delivers 100% heating capacity even in extreme temperatures as low as -25°C.
※ The performance test model was AE120BXYDGG. The “up to 70°C hot water” claim is based on an outdoor temperature of -15°C to 43°C. The “100% heating capacity” claim is based on Samsung’s internal tests at an outdoor temperature of -25°C and a water outlet temperature of 55°C. Actual results may vary depending on operating conditions.
“We will aggressively pursue the U.S. market with our residential EHS heat pumps, which combine high performance and efficiency with AI Home and SmartThings for more convenient energy management,” said Choi Hang-seok, executive vice president of Samsung Electronics’ DA Business.
