Hyundai Motor Group said on the 3rd that it won 16 awards at the 2026 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), organized by the Industrial Design Society of America (IDSA).
Along with Germany’s iF Design Award and Red Dot Design Award, IDEA is considered one of the world’s three leading design competitions. Since 1980, it has selected the best designs in various categories each year, assessing entries against criteria including design innovation, user benefits and social responsibility.
Hyundai Motor Group further demonstrated its global design strength this year, winning two gold awards, one silver, three bronze and 10 finalist awards at IDEA.
Hyundai Motor’s E3W & E4W Micro Mobility Concepts and Na Oh Korean Restaurant Book, created by Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center in Singapore (HMGICS), won gold awards—the competition’s top honor—in the Concepts & Speculative Design and Branding categories, respectively.
Unveiled last year, Hyundai Motor’s E3W & E4W Micro Mobility Concepts reimagines the motor rickshaw, a common mode of transport in India, as a next-generation electric platform. Its compact body is suited to India’s congested urban environments, while flexible seating and efficient use of space make the design practical for passenger transport, logistics and emergency support.
Na Oh Korean Restaurant Book tells the story of the brand philosophy and creation of Na Oh, a Korean restaurant at HMGICS. It was recognized for its brand storytelling, which brings together a collaboration with three-Michelin-star chef Corey Lee, connections with Korean artisans, and a thoughtful blend of Korean culture and contemporary aesthetics.
Genesis’ high-performance concept car, the Magma GT Concept, won silver in the Automotive & Transportation category.
The Magma GT Concept represents the pinnacle of the brand’s performance vision: “luxury high performance.” Its low, wide body and long roofline create a striking presence, while its dynamic mid-engine proportions and streamlined aerodynamic design visually express Genesis’ performance philosophy.
Hyundai Motor’s heritage content series, Hyundai Heritage: RETRACE Magazine STELLAR and SONATA, which highlights memories shared by customers and their cars, and Hyundai Hope on Wheels, a global childhood cancer support campaign promoting care and hope, won bronze in the Branding category.
Kia’s dedicated PBV infotainment system, PV5 Infotainment System, won bronze in the Digital Interaction category for extending the vehicle beyond transportation into a space for digital services and opening up new possibilities for mobility experiences.
Hyundai Motor, Kia and Genesis also received finalist awards across a range of categories.
Hyundai Motor received awards for UX Studio Seoul in both Service Design and Environments; Na Oh Korean Restaurant Branding in Branding; Hyundai Employee ID Card Case in Office & Accessories; Mobile Nap in Concepts & Speculative Design; Furnished Lounge & Hyundai Add Gear in Furniture & Lighting; and MobED in Commercial & Industrial.
Kia’s global campaign, Kia x The Ocean Cleanup: Creating a Wave of Movement, Together, was named a finalist in Social Impact Design.
Genesis was recognized for the G90 Wingback Concept in Automotive & Transportation and Magma UI Design in Digital Interaction.
Hyundai Motor Group said the awards demonstrate its design strength beyond products, spanning brand experiences, digital interfaces, spaces, services and social impact. The group added that it will continue to introduce innovative designs that enrich customers’ lives and point the way to a sustainable future.
