Motion2AI, which is preparing to commercialize MotionKit and MotionFMS, solutions that use computer vision and AI to manage forklifts at logistics centers, announced on the 30th that it had raised a total of 1.5 billion won from Smilegate Investment, FuturePlay, and Daily Hotel founder Shin Jae-sik. The investment brings Motion2AI’s cumulative funding to 2.5 billion won.
Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Motion2AI provides services to optimize manned and unmanned mobility resources at logistics centers. MotionKit, a detachable sensor kit, uses vision-based technology to deliver accurate positioning and monitor the efficiency of various types of forklifts in real time at large warehouses, without requiring separate infrastructure. It also offers fleet management services at a much lower monthly fee than competing technologies.
MotionFMS lets users program collaboration between different types of manned forklifts and between forklifts and robots. It also provides a dashboard for monitoring real-time and historical data. As the shift to online consumption increases demand for logistics mobility and drives up costs, demand for integrated monitoring and control of logistics resources through MotionKit and MotionFMS is expected to grow rapidly.
Last year, Motion2AI completed a pilot with CJ Logistics, Korea’s largest integrated logistics company. It is also preparing for mass production of MotionKit for LogisALL Korea, a domestic specialist in logistics equipment.
Jung-hoon Park, lead consultant at LogisALL Consulting & Engineering, which conducted the pilot, said it had raised expectations not only for broader adoption of MotionKit in Korea, but also for advancing both companies’ solutions and accelerating their entry into the RaaS business.
Shin Jae-sik, founder of Daily Hotel and startup accelerator Nest Company, who participated in the pre-Series A funding round, said, "Motion2AI addresses problems in the logistics market in a simpler, more practical way.” He added, "We decided to invest because we believe the company will not only transform the logistics market but also drive innovation in the commercial mobility market. Commercializing MotionKit, which is currently in development, could reduce logistics costs and help prevent accidents.”

Motion2AI CEO Kim Byung-soo said, "We plan to build a logistics mobility ecosystem around the many manned forklifts currently operating at logistics centers, and expand our collaboration with a range of robotics solution providers."
Following the investment, Motion2AI plans to officially launch MotionKit, its vision-based positioning solution, and develop an integrated robotics solution, with both slated to go live in the first half of the year.
