LaraJob Inc., which operates LaraJob, a staffing service for part-time and junior workers, announced on the 28th that it raised a seed investment of undisclosed size from U.S. venture capital firm Strong Ventures and Primer, one of Korea’s leading startup accelerators.
Launched in June 2019, LaraJob quickly and conveniently connects companies with vetted university students and junior talent. It has matched workers with companies ranging from startups to large corporations for roles in administrative support, marketing, design, customer service, event staffing and sales.
LaraJob has a talent pool that can fill positions quickly, including as soon as the day after a request. Its job-seeker app digitizes the entire process, from recruiting applicants to signing employment contracts and processing payroll, earning high satisfaction from hiring managers. Another advantage is that companies can significantly reduce the risk of a bad hire by converting short-term hires into permanent employees.
Strong Ventures CEO Bae Ki-hong, who led the investment, said, “The traditional employment model—working under a long-term contract with a specific employer—is already breaking down. The gig economy, where people can choose when, where and what they work, will become the norm, and I believe LaraJob is the ideal employment platform for this shift. Strong Ventures portfolio companies have been highly satisfied with LaraJob’s service, which gave us even greater confidence in our investment.”

LaraJob CEO Lee Jung-hee said, “With this investment, we plan to focus on improving our service and marketing, transforming a recruitment market that has seen little change and developing a safe, high-quality job platform for the gig economy.”
LaraJob was selected for Google for Startups’ Startup Flex program last year.
