Homelaison, which operates a home styling concierge service, announced on the 1st that it had secured seed funding from Sopoong Ventures and the Yoon Min Chang Foundation.

Homelaison offers customized interior design services, including designer matching, construction team coordination and support at every stage, to create interiors suited to residents’ lifestyles and personalities.

Unlike conventional remodeling, which can involve excessive construction budgets or uniform designs, Homelaison’s service is distinguished by dedicated designers who manage the entire interior design process. Based on a preliminary questionnaire, customers are matched with up to five designers, each of whom proposes a plan tailored to their circumstances. Since launching in March last year, the service has handled around 100 projects and is reportedly receiving a positive response from customers preparing to move into apartments, particularly newlywed couples in their 30s and 40s.

Home styling is an approach to interior design that determines the scope of construction while taking furniture, accessories and available budget into account, reflecting the space’s characteristics and residents’ preferences as fully as possible. This allows customers to optimize budgets for wallpaper and flooring as well as interior furnishings, creating a satisfying result. The company says customers with little interior design experience can also avoid unnecessary costs through consultations with dedicated designers.

To support this service, Homelaison recruits designers with expertise in everything from planning to construction, analyzes their interior design portfolios and matches them with customers based on their preferences and circumstances. Homelaison also helps its partner designers grow by supporting portfolio photography, content publication and customer feedback.

“To create interiors that residents are happy with, it’s essential to provide professional care from designers who understand their circumstances and needs,” said Park Hye-yeon, CEO of Homelaison. “We’ll move beyond the traditional, contractor-led remodeling model and develop customer-focused interior design solutions.”

With the new investment, Homelaison plans to expand its service area nationwide, including to Chungcheong and Gyeongsang provinces. By the end of this year, it also plans to build an in-house design management system to improve communication between designers and customers and streamline project operations. The company is reportedly planning to offer home styling services for other people who need customized interiors, including people living alone, older adults and people with medical conditions.
