Gifticon resale platform Niconnecon operator DoubleNC raises seed funding

DoubleNC, operator of “Niconnecon,” a secondhand marketplace for gift certificates (mobile vouchers), announced on the 29th that it secured seed funding from SpringCamp, a venture capital firm affiliated with Naver.

Niconnecon is a service that brokers gift certificate transactions, much like a secondhand goods marketplace. According to DoubleNC, in the three years since its launch, the service has grown by an average of more than 200% annually, reaching 4.2 million cumulative transactions worth a total of KRW 35 billion.

Niconnecon’s rapid growth is due in part to its transparent, secure transaction system. The company buys gift certificates directly from sellers, addressing issues such as fraud and personal information leaks. It also sells them below market prices, giving consumers an affordable way to make purchases—an approach that has earned praise from users.

“This investment from SpringCamp will be a major boost as DoubleNC takes its next step forward,” said Park Jin-hee, CEO of DoubleNC. “We plan to improve the user experience and build strategic partnerships with a range of brands.”

“The mobile gift certificate market is growing rapidly, at more than 60% a year, and secondhand trading in gift certificates is also thriving. DoubleNC is growing quickly by providing users with a safe, transparent trading platform. Given the platform’s potential to expand in various directions, we’re watching the team’s progress with interest,” said Go Kyung-pyo, a team lead at SpringCamp, explaining the rationale for the investment.

DoubleNC also said it was selected for the first cohort of Dino Lab (Digital Innovation Lab), Woori Financial Group’s startup accelerator program. The company plans to move into the newly opening Dino Lab integrated center next month and create synergies with Woori Financial Group’s in-house venture teams.
