Content creation AI startup Plask announced on the 8th that it has secured seed funding from Spring Camp. Plask was also selected for the Ddiddimdol R&D Support Program and the Pre-TIPS program, securing approximately KRW 180 million in government funding.

Founded by a team of POSTECH student entrepreneurs, Plask is developing a content creation tool that recognizes people’s movements in video and transfers them to characters in games and animation. “Plask Motion Capture” (working title), scheduled to launch in beta at the end of this year, is already being piloted in development of a new game by mobile game company Nfuzion. With this potential, Plask secured angel investment from Big Bang Angels in February, the same month it was incorporated.

“Plask has advanced AI technologies, including motion recognition and generation, and is a team that can transform the animation production environment,” said Ko Kyung-pyo, team lead at Spring Camp. “We expect it to become a key player with a technological edge in the growing content market.”

Plask CEO Lee Jun-ho said the company would use the investment and government support to complete development of its service and begin finding customers through marketing and sales. Co-founder and Director Yoo Jae-joon added, “We will use AI to drive productivity gains in the content industry, a vital sector in the post-pandemic era.”
