Miso, a home services startup, announced on the 13th that it is launching its “Ten-Minute Moving Estimate Service” for one-person households.
The service collects information about customers’ belongings remotely and provides three tiered comparison quotes in just 10 minutes for small moves. Based on service ratings and prices from Miso’s moving partners, the quotes offer options such as top quality, value for money, and low cost, helping customers choose a moving team that suits their needs.
The service was designed to make moving more convenient for one-person households, which tend to move frequently. According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s “Analysis of Resident Registration Population and Households as of the End of June 2020,” released on the 8th of last month, one-person households totaled 8,768,414 as of the end of June, accounting for 38.5% of all 22,791,531 households. Their numbers continue to rise rapidly.
Miso CEO Victor Ching said, “As more people living alone juggle work and household responsibilities and stay constantly busy, there is a need for a convenient, innovative moving service that breaks from the traditional approach. We will match customers with professional partners quickly and at reasonable prices to give them the best possible moving experience.”
