Personal health care company Strig announced on the 19th that it has raised seed funding from investment firm CNTTech.

Strig was founded by CEO Oh Hwan-gyeong, a former physical therapist, who asked, “How can anyone enjoy easy, convenient self-care?” In 2019, the brand raised approximately 500 million won through Kickstarter and Indiegogo, two of the largest crowdfunding platforms in the United States.

Strig’s flagship product, Strig Pro, is a massage device that combines microcurrent and microvibration with a fascia-release tool known as IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), traditionally used in physical therapy. It makes it easy for people to perform fascia release on their own.

Since its official launch in Korea in February, the company has continued to grow, winning over consumers as well as athletes and professionals.

Strig is also building its profile through a range of sponsorship initiatives, including official sponsorships of the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation cycling team and Lotte’s golf team, as well as a donation campaign for young aspiring athletes who have had to give up their dreams due to injury.

“With this investment, we expect to strengthen our connections with a wider range of customers,” said CEO Oh Hwan-gyeong. “We plan to expand beyond the domestic market into global markets, leveraging Strig’s core technology and product quality.”
