Shared kitchen platform WeCook, operated by Simple Project Company, will hold an online business briefing on September 2 at 7 p.m. The event is aimed at food business owners, including those looking to close a brick-and-mortar shop and start a delivery restaurant, expand online sales and distribution channels for their products, or find a central kitchen for large-scale food production.

WeCook Vice President Kang Hye-won said the briefing would share essential know-how for food businesses looking to expand online. She will offer insights into how food consumption patterns and business strategies have changed since COVID-19, and what businesses need to consider when entering online channels.

“Since COVID-19, the domestic and global F&B markets have changed. Contactless food consumption has become the ‘new normal,’ and as these patterns persist, the way food businesses operate is changing too. We’re already seeing inquiries from food makers who want to start delivery restaurants through WeCook Delivery rise two- to threefold each month, and inquiries about shared kitchens for food production are increasing at a similar rate,” Kang said, describing a shift that is already underway.

Amid this trend, shared kitchen platform WeCook is emerging as an alternative for business owners. It is the only F&B business platform to offer branding, marketing, operations, and sales solutions, alongside rigorous hygiene management by a food safety team of professional sanitation experts. Delivery-focused food businesses using WeCook can achieve operating profit margins more than 11% higher than those of traditional restaurants. For food manufacturing and distribution, monthly costs are also lower: businesses can make, package, and ship food for an average of 600,000 won per month.
