Gangwon Center for Creative Economy & Innovation announced on the 8th that Goldrain Co., Ltd., an app developer, had secured KRW 100 million in seed funding through an investment program linked to startup support programs.

The Investment Program Linked to Startup Support Programs, operated by Korea Venture Investment Corp., a manager of the Fund of Funds, invests up to KRW 100 million per company, matching the startup support grant. It targets companies less than seven years old that have been selected for government startup support programs and recognized for their growth potential.

Founded in 2018, Goldrain Co., Ltd. is based at the Gangwon Center for Creative Economy & Innovation. Early in its business, the company completed development of an AI machine-learning-based bowling score recognition program. It then built the Bolink app using the technology and launched the service this year.

Bolink helps users improve their bowling through automatic scorekeeping, which records and analyzes scores. It also incorporates engaging features such as performance analysis and rankings, and the company plans to host online tournaments using the platform.

“With this investment, we plan to hire staff and step up marketing to accelerate business expansion,” said CEO Dohyun Kim.

Meanwhile, the Gangwon Center for Creative Economy & Innovation selected three companies for new investments in the first half of this year—Breathings, Raon Surf Resort, and Jushin Global Tech Co., Ltd.—and completed investment agreements. The center supports the stable growth of Gangwon-based startups by expanding seed investments and operating individual investor groups, as well as connecting companies with investment opportunities.
