AlbaCheck, which operates a contactless store management app, announced on the 5th that it had secured a pre-Series A investment from Shinhan Capital and Shinhan Investment Corp.
AlbaCheck is a work management service that uses its proprietary mobile app and web dashboard to reduce communication burdens between store owners and employees, improve operational efficiency and enable contactless work management.
One of its key features lets employees use their smartphone cameras to document completed daily tasks with “proof photos,” share their work and communicate through comments. The company says its thumbnail-based feed layout makes it quick and easy to share completed tasks with coworkers, helping ensure accurate work.
Completed tasks are stored permanently unless the store is deleted, making them useful when employees hand over responsibilities. Employees can also view visualized daily, weekly and monthly data to see what tasks they have completed, how much they have done and how well they are performing.
The rapid growth of AlbaCheck’s business metrics offers a measure of the rising demand for contactless work and digital transformation at offline stores. The cumulative number of task “proof photos,” which stood at about 47,000 in September last year, one year after the service launched, surged more than 20-fold to approximately 834,000 this September.
Since the official version launched in early September, the number of stores partnering with AlbaCheck has grown rapidly to about 4,000. Cumulative registrations have surpassed 12,000.
“We took note of how AlbaCheck identified pain points in part-time work management and built an efficient, technology-driven platform that offers a solution capable of satisfying both employers and Generation MZ employees,” said Lee Dong-hwan, general manager of the Venture Investment Department at Shinhan Capital. “We decided to invest because the company is acquiring customers quickly and is well positioned to capitalize on the trend toward contactless services.”
“We are accelerating technology development to help small and midsize businesses operating franchise networks undergo digital transformation and enable standardized management across their stores,” said Kwon Min-jae, CEO of AlbaCheck. “Data-driven comparisons and analysis will make objective, quantitative franchise management possible.”
