Fintech startup Ghostpass announced on the 13th that it had secured investment from ActnerLab, a TIPS program operator.

One of the TIPS operators, ActnerLab is a global startup accelerator that has built an ecosystem connecting Korea, the United States, China and other markets worldwide, helping startups pursue global growth from their earliest stages.

The investment is seen as objective recognition of the innovative technology behind Ghostpass’s integrated ordering and payment solution based on decentralized identity verification (DID). The amount was not disclosed by mutual agreement.

ActnerLab provides intensive mentoring from prominent entrepreneurs and industry experts, helping startups complete technology development and market validation as quickly as possible. The process is conducted as a one-stop service.

“We’re delighted to have secured investment from a renowned global startup accelerator like ActnerLab,” said Ghostpass CEO Lee Seon-gwan. “Together with ActnerLab, we’ll do our utmost to take Ghostpass’s technology to the world.”

Ghostpass’s DID-based facial recognition solution integrates ordering and payments and uses patented technology designed to eliminate the risk of large-scale leaks of biometric and personal information. It authenticates users by directly matching, one to one and without sharing biometric data, biometric information recognized by a specific device with information securely stored on a smart device. This enables secure management of biometric data, and the company aims to commercialize the solution in 2021.
