AI company MarqVision said on the 3rd that it had moved its global headquarters to Los Angeles, the heart of the global content industry.
MarqVision, which previously had its global headquarters in Boston, decided to move to LA to expand beyond counterfeit goods monitoring into intellectual property (IP) protection for copyrighted works, including characters and content. Set to launch its Anti-Piracy Platform in the first half of this year, MarqVision plans to use LA as a base to find global clients across sectors including webtoons, gaming, entertainment and broadcasting, expanding its reach in the content IP monitoring market.
It also plans to strengthen its U.S. sales team, drawing on key personnel including its co-founders in a market home to many global fashion and luxury brands. The company will also make active use of its major investor Y Combinator and its Silicon Valley venture capital network to accelerate client acquisition.
Alongside the headquarters move and new service launch, MarqVision plans to step up hiring. It will recruit Silicon Valley B2B SaaS experts and product development staff to advance its AI models, improve the efficiency of its existing monitoring and reporting operations, and enhance its programs. It also plans to hire IP specialists, including U.S. attorneys, to help local clients respond more effectively to IP infringement.
MarqVision CEO Inseop Lee said, "The U.S. is considered the world's largest content market, and companies have a strong need for IP protection. Through this move of our global headquarters, we will successfully expand our content business and strengthen our competitiveness so that MarqVision's AI monitoring services are recognized in global markets as well."
