WESANG, the operator of mobile laundry service Laundrygo, announced on the 12th that it recently opened a dedicated clothing repair factory and is launching a contactless mobile repair service.

Laundrygo’s repair service lets customers photograph their clothing with a smartphone and select the areas to be repaired and provide instructions with a single tap. It enables customers to complete the entire repair process conveniently through a contactless mobile service, without visiting a physical store.

The service features a UX/UI optimized for providing detailed information and placing orders remotely, while efficiently systematizing repair requests. By allowing customers to compare before-and-after photos, it can provide even more accurate repairs than in-person orders.

Laundrygo customers can access the repair service through the existing app and Laundrygo bags. Customers can specify detailed requirements for everything from basic repairs to luxury garments. All work is offered at transparent, fixed prices that are competitive with the market.

To launch its professional repair service, Laundrygo opened a repair factory spanning about 330 square meters (100 pyeong) and equipped it with the latest global repair technology and systems. It also recruited a broad range of repair specialists, including the head of an online repair brand and experts with more than 20 to 30 years of experience at luxury and major fashion brands.

According to industry estimates, South Korea’s repair market is worth about 1.3 trillion won, with more than 99% of the business conducted through offline outlets such as department stores and big-box retailers. As the mobile laundry market grows rapidly, the mobile repair industry is also expected to expand significantly.

Leveraging world-class contactless mobile laundry and repair infrastructure, including smart factories and logistics systems, Laundrygo plans to offer a trusted, one-stop service covering everything from laundry to repairs. It also plans to roll out services tailored to customer needs, using big data analysis of laundry and repair usage.

“The online fashion market is growing rapidly, driven by overseas luxury goods and resale, and demand for related repairs is rising sharply, yet the industry still relies on offline methods,” said Cho Sung-woo, CEO of WESANG. “We will usher in a new era of mobile clothing repairs through contactless services.”
