Thingsflow, developer of the chatbot service Hellobot, announced on the 21st that it officially launched interactive story platform Storyplay last month. Thingsflow developed Hellobot, a character-based AI chatbot service used by more than 4 million people, and brought its expertise in chat-based content to Storyplay.
Storyplay is Korea’s first interactive story platform. Users step into the role of a story’s protagonist, choose what to do at key moments, and collect the different endings that result from their choices. Less than a month after its official launch, the app has received nearly 1,000 ratings in app stores, with an average score of 4.7.
Users can enjoy chat-based interactive versions of works that have gained attention on platforms such as Naver Webtoon and Naver Series. In particular, users can become the protagonist of The Forbidden Marriage: Joseon Marriage Ban, which was popular as both a web novel and a webtoon. Unlike conventional content, Storyplay lets users experience both the appeal of the original and alternative storylines shaped by their choices. Its interface is designed to make users feel like protagonists, with conversations that resemble real interactions with the characters.
CEO Lee Suji said, “Building on our experience operating Hellobot, we plan to grow Storyplay into a chat-based content platform powered by AI that recognizes user choices. Users will be able to shape stories themselves—for example, by changing the plot or making the character they want the protagonist.”
In the second half of this year, Thingsflow plans to bring its chat-based content creation system to Storyplay and expand beyond popular IP titles into original content across genres such as romance, mystery, and thriller.
