Thrii said on the 23rd that it recently raised 28 billion won in funding. The company develops metaverse technologies, including artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality.
Korea Development Bank, SV Investment, LB Investment and DS Asset Management joined as new financial investors, while YG Investment and Intops Investment joined as strategic investors, contributing a total of 23 billion won. Existing investors Enlight Ventures, NBH Capital and Korea Asset Investment Securities added 5 billion won, bringing the total to 28 billion won.
“Thrii is growing dramatically through two businesses: a B2B digital twin solution powered by core AR technology and a B2C video content creation platform,” said Jung Joo-wan, a director at SV Investment. “We decided to invest because we believe the company can grow into the only global player with both technology and content in a truly integrated metaverse.”
Thrii plans to use the funds to develop new products and expand its metaverse platform business. Its strategy includes actively marketing to build brand awareness and expand sales channels in global markets.
Founded in 2016, Thrii’s main business is a platform that combines Pivo’s Smart Pod hardware with its applications. Its Beamo solution, which helps businesses digitally recreate industrial sites and facilities for remote management, is also growing globally. Thrii has leading technologies for capturing, sharing and collaborating on real-world content and information in digital spaces. Its expertise in AI, AR and VR helps people make better, easier use of real-world experiences in the digital world.
“We expect media to move to the metaverse, the next-generation platform, creating a range of business opportunities,” said Thrii CEO Kim Ken. “With products and solutions incorporating our advanced metaverse technologies, including AI, AR and VR, we will become a leading company in the global market.”
