TakeOne Studio, a full-service content production company, announced on the 28th that it had secured 10 billion won in Series A funding.

TakeOne Studio attracted investment totaling 10 billion won through paid-in capital increases and project financing from W Asset Management, Meritz Securities and KC Ventures just three months after its founding, with investors recognizing its value from the outset. Its ability to raise substantial funds so soon after launching is attributed to its portfolio of content IP (intellectual property) and expertise in producing multiple types of content.

TakeOne Studio produces content IP across a range of genres and pursues transmedia projects. In May 2021, TakeOne Company, the developer of the mobile game “BTS World” led by CEO Jung Min-chae, spun off its content IP division as a separate entity.

TakeOne Studio produces video content such as films and dramas, as well as original IP including webtoons, web novels and characters. By recruiting numerous production experts—including directors, writers and animators—it has built the unusual ability, for a content production company, to handle everything in-house from original IP development to the production of derivative content. Another strength is its ability to adapt its content IP into games through TakeOne Company.

In February this year, TakeOne Studio produced tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama “LUCA: The Beginning,” which ranked No. 1 in its time slot among cable and general programming channels. It later announced a series of drama adaptations of popular webtoons, including “CELL” (by Kang Hyung-kyu, Kakao Webtoon) and “Whale Star” (by Na Yoon-hee, Naver Webtoon), drawing strong interest from fans.

Its independently produced film “The Cursed House” (directed by Kang Dong-heon) was selected for the Today-Panorama section of the 26th Busan International Film Festival. More than 30 webtoons it produced, including “One Step to the Demon King” (by Yoon Hong), “CELL” and “Bodyguard,” have also become popular, ranking near the top on platforms such as Naver Webtoon and Kakao Webtoon. The company is achieving notable results across every content IP genre.

“TakeOne Studio has built a full-service content studio system that spans every genre,” said Jung Min-chae, CEO of TakeOne Studio. “We will build a unique content production value chain by creating synergies across diverse content sectors.”

TakeOne Studio is currently developing six upcoming dramas and holds around 40 original IP properties.
