Founded by CEO Junho Park and a team of Seoul National University life sciences alumni, Pitter Petter safely collects and analyzes pets’ genetic information and shares the results with their owners. The company offers personalized education and care guidance to help prevent disease, including symptoms to watch for, tests pets may need, factors that affect disease risk, information about related conditions, and other care recommendations. Its goal is to help owners seek veterinary care before it is too late.
Pets often hide signs of illness, making symptoms difficult to spot. Inbreeding can also contribute to genetic diseases and drive up related costs. Pitter Petter CEO Park began developing the service after the personal heartbreak of losing a cat without knowing it had a genetic disease.
Pitter Petter’s flagship services, “Catering” and “Dogma,” analyze the genetic information of cats and dogs, respectively. They collect and analyze pets’ inherited genetic information, then provide easy-to-understand reports on the conditions they may be predisposed to. Owners can use the results to identify symptoms to monitor and tests to schedule regularly, and then create a structured health plan. Pitter Petter has also developed customizable chips that enable high-volume testing, reducing costs. The entire process—from ordering the kit and collecting a sample to sending it back—is handled remotely.

Pitter Petter plans to use the investment to adjust the price of its genetic testing service so more pets can be tested. The company also said it will step up hiring.
