Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis demonstrated their product competitiveness, winning awards in 11 categories at The 2023 Autos Awards, hosted by U.S. current affairs magazine Newsweek.

Among the 39 award categories, Hyundai Motor Group won 11 in total—eight for Kia, two for Hyundai, and one for Genesis—earning the most awards of any automaker group for the third consecutive year.

Newsweek selected this year’s winners after evaluating about 200 vehicles across seven categories: performance; handling and braking; technology; cargo space; seat comfort; interior; and price.

The Kia EV9 was named Best Premium SUV and Best SUV Interior for its striking, bold design; versatile seating and interior layout; generous cargo space; and innovative features that offer a new mobility experience, including Kia Connect Store, an automotive subscription service.

With its spacious interior, wide range of convenience features, and comfortable ride, the Carnival retained its Best Minivan title for the third consecutive year. The Seltos was named Most Improved Vehicle and Best Small SUV for its enhanced product competitiveness and reasonable price.

The Sportage was named Best Two-Row SUV for its bold design and array of technology, including a 12.3-inch navigation system, lane-keeping assist, rear parking assist, and smart cruise control.

Kia was also named Most Innovative Vehicle Brand in recognition of its innovation and advanced technology. The brand was honored as Best SUV Lineup for the strength of its SUV range, including the flagship EV9 electric SUV, the Seltos, and the Sportage.

The Hyundai Santa Cruz made the Best Small Pickup Truck list for the third consecutive year, thanks to its generous cargo space and strong product offering backed by advanced technology.

Hyundai was also named Best Brand for Your Buck for the third consecutive year, earning recognition for its quality and value. The Genesis Electrified GV70 was named Vehicle Editor’s Pick for its dynamic performance and advanced features.

Hyundai Motor Group said it was pleased that Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles had been recognized for their excellent design, quality, and performance, and that it would continue to provide competitive mobility solutions as the industry transitions to a new era of mobility.

Last April, Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung was named the first recipient of the Visionary of the Year award at Newsweek’s The World’s Greatest Auto Disruptors 2022 ceremony.
