DX company LG CNS signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with New York City (NYC) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) at New York City Hall to establish a digital transformation (DX) partnership. New York City Mayor Eric Adams, LG CNS CEO Hyun Shin-kyoon, and James Kim, chairman and CEO of AMCHAM, attended the signing ceremony.

Under the MOU, LG CNS, New York City, and AMCHAM plan to work together on a technology partnership to apply emerging DX technologies, including AI, digital twins, IoT, and blockchain, in New York City; provide internship programs for college students in the city; and support minority- and women-owned business enterprises (M/WBEs).

LG CNS expects the partnership to help it expand its business in North America in areas including smart cities, e-government, and cloud services. After further discussions with New York City and AMCHAM, the company will also consider establishing a local office in New York. It plans to use the office as a base to strengthen its collaboration with the city and AMCHAM.

“I believe this MOU marks a meaningful step forward for all three parties, including by providing excellent training and opportunities to many New Yorkers across the five boroughs,” New York City Mayor Eric Adams said. “We look forward to welcoming LG CNS, a global leader in IT, to New York.”

“Through this strategic collaboration, we will help New York City achieve sustainable growth by leveraging emerging DX technologies,” LG CNS CEO Hyun Shin-kyoon said.
