Bodyfriend, the No. 1 healthcare massage chair company, has entered the U.S. East Coast market by opening a new flagship lounge in New Jersey.
Bodyfriend said it opened the Fort Lee Lounge, a massage chair showroom in the New Jersey area, on the 8th. The Fort Lee Lounge
The opening marks a significant milestone: six years after entering the U.S. market in 2017, Bodyfriend has established a nationwide network stretching from the West Coast and Georgia in the South to the East Coast. With a network spanning more than 3,000 miles across the U.S., the company is expanding beyond its traditional base among Korean Americans in the West and is expected to pursue aggressive growth in the broader U.S. massage chair market.
New Jersey has the nation’s second-largest Korean American population after Los Angeles and is also close to New York. The Fort Lee Lounge will therefore enable Bodyfriend to offer differentiated products and services to some 250,000 Korean Americans in New York and New Jersey, as well as local residents. The company expects the lounge’s strategic location to make it an important hub for growing its U.S. market share.
The newly opened Fort Lee Lounge features a spacious, two-level layout spanning 56 pyeong (about 2,000 square feet), where visitors can try and purchase Bodyfriend’s flagship products. These include the Falcon healthcare robot, the Leonardo DV home healthcare trainer with body composition analysis, the Phantom Robo with Robo Walking Technology, and the Famile and Eliza massage sofas. The lounge will also offer private experience areas to enhance the customer experience. The second floor includes office space, supporting expansion into both the U.S. B2B and B2C markets.
An opening event was held to mark the occasion. Attendees included Palisades Park Mayor Paul Kim, Bergen County Sheriff Jinsung Kim, Women’s Association President Michelle Song, New Jersey Korean American Senior Citizens Association President Youngja Cha, World-OKTA representatives, and other members of the New Jersey Korean American community. The event featured opening remarks by Changju Kim, head of Bodyfriend’s Americas subsidiary, an introduction to Bodyfriend by CMO Executive Vice President Seungho Song, and congratulatory remarks from distinguished guests. Attendees then met with customers and presented the new products.
