Smart mobility company Korea Mobility announced on the 18th that it won a CES Innovation Award at CES 2024, the world’s largest consumer electronics and IT show, held this month in Las Vegas, and held approximately US$10 million in business talks with major companies in the United States, Canada and other markets.
This was Korea Mobility’s first time exhibiting at CES. The company joined the Korea Pavilion, supported by KOTRA, and showcased its flagship electric bike, the Komo Bike EH9. It drew strong interest from local visitors, international buyers and mobility industry representatives.
The Komo Bike features a distinctive, futuristic hubless design without spokes in its wheels. In recognition of its advanced technology and originality, it won its first CES Innovation Award in the Vehicle Tech & Advanced Mobility category.
The hubless Komo Bike applies a hula-hoop-inspired design to a bicycle, eliminating the hub and spokes—key components of conventional bikes. It drew unprecedented interest from visitors to the booth and customers around the world.
Komo Bike’s frame uses a fitting-and-bolting method inspired by architectural structures, achieving more than three times the strength of welded frames and improving durability for safer riding. The open hubless space can also serve multiple purposes, including as an advertising panel or for carrying bags and helmets.
Korea Mobility is a startup founded in May 2020. It developed the futuristic hubless electric bike Komo Bike using its own technology and was the first in the world to obtain European CE certification for the product.
Korea Mobility CEO Park Jeong-seok said, “Taking part in CES for the first time since our founding and winning a CES Innovation Award against products from leading companies around the world is an exciting achievement that validates our global technological competitiveness. The show was also a meaningful milestone: we held approximately US$10 million in business talks with major companies in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Australia, paving the way to enter four new countries. We will continue to grow as a company that pursues innovation with the future of mobility in mind.”
