Laseroptek, a specialist in laser devices for aesthetic and medical skin treatments, announced on the 22nd that it has established a U.S. subsidiary in the world’s largest market for aesthetic lasers and is stepping up its efforts to expand there.

Laseroptek recently established LASEROPTEK AMERICA CORP. in Laguna Hills, California, to accelerate growth by strengthening local marketing and management. Laseroptek CEO Lee Chang-jin has been named head of the U.S. subsidiary, with industry veteran Christopher Dalton serving as vice president.

The U.S. is by far the world’s largest market for aesthetic medical devices. According to market research firm Transparency Market Research, the U.S. aesthetic medical device market was valued at $13.7 billion (about 18 trillion won) in 2022. Through its U.S. subsidiary, Laseroptek plans to build brand awareness with customer-focused marketing and quickly earn the trust of U.S. physicians through prompt customer service and after-sales support.

Laseroptek has recently driven sales growth in the U.S. market with PALLAS PREMIUM, the world’s first 311-nanometer (nm) solid-state UV laser using titanium sapphire. The company expects the establishment of its U.S. subsidiary to further accelerate its market expansion.

The U.S. subsidiary is also expected to serve as a gateway to Latin America, in addition to North America. Laseroptek plans to secure distributors and expand sales in Latin America, a fast-growing market for aesthetic lasers, while pursuing country-specific certifications in key markets.

Laseroptek CEO Lee Chang-jin, who will lead the U.S. subsidiary, said, “Revenue from North America recently rose 123% year over year, increasing its share of total revenue to 26%. We expect revenue could reach 10 billion won by year-end. With the establishment of this subsidiary, we will strengthen local management and communication with customers through marketing, training and after-sales support, establishing ourselves in a short time as a brand U.S. physicians can trust.”

Founded in 2000, Laseroptek specializes in laser-based medical devices and exports products under its own brand to about 50 countries, where they are used in hospitals and dermatology clinics worldwide. The company generated 34.4 billion won in revenue in 2023 and listed on the KOSDAQ in February this year. By leveraging its differentiated technology, broad product portfolio and stronger overseas sales, it aims to generate about 80 billion won in revenue by 2027.
