HD Hyundai XiteSolution said on the 6th that its two key construction equipment affiliates, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment and HD Hyundai Infracore, held an opening ceremony on Wednesday, the 4th, local time, for the HD Hyundai Integrated Customization Center in Brunswick, Georgia.

The customization center assembles and finishes semi-finished products made in Korea to meet customers’ specifications. Given the industry’s reliance on made-to-order production, such facilities are essential for expanding in the market.

Attendees included HD Hyundai XiteSolution President Cho Young-cheul, Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) Chief Operating Officer John Felitto, and representatives of the Brunswick port and logistics sectors.

Spanning about 125,000 square meters (41,300 square meters), the completed HD Hyundai Integrated Center combines the assembly centers that HD Hyundai Construction Equipment and HD Hyundai Infracore previously operated separately in Savannah, Georgia.

The integrated center is expected to generate tangible and intangible synergies through economies of scale. Its convenient access to the Port of Brunswick, the nation’s second-busiest port for roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) ships, is also expected to significantly reduce logistics costs and shorten delivery times.

In particular, operating the assembly and production lines together will improve both process flexibility and efficiency, maximizing sales synergies as the companies expand their reach through market-specific products and timely deliveries. HD Hyundai also plans to use the center as a hub for cross-selling the two companies’ products, a strategic initiative to increase their share of the North American market.

According to global market research firm BlueWeave Consulting, the North American construction equipment market is forecast to grow at an average annual rate of 6.0%, reaching about $40 billion in 2028.

“The establishment of the integrated customization center will be an important milestone in our efforts to expand in the North American market,” President Cho Young-cheul said at the opening ceremony. “By harnessing the synergies between the two companies to maximize efficiency in product quality, delivery times, and costs, we will bring forward opportunities to become a top-tier player in developed markets.”

On Tuesday, the 3rd, President Cho toured the parts distribution centers (PDCs) of HD Hyundai Construction Equipment and HD Hyundai Infracore in Miami, Florida. He also met with executives from NED, a global mega-dealer, as part of local visits and sales efforts to strengthen the companies’ position in North America.
