Gaon Cable said on the 4th that it will supply about 35 billion won worth of cables for AI data center power grids through a U.S. power infrastructure provider.

This marks Gaon Cable’s first entry into the AI data center power grid market. The company expects related revenue to reach about 100 billion won this year, with demand forecast to continue rising as investment in AI data centers expands.

Gaon Cable already supplies about 100 billion won worth of cables annually for power grid projects at U.S. solar farms. With the addition of the AI data center power grid market, its U.S. exports are expected to reach about 200 billion won this year.

Its U.S. subsidiary, LSCUS, is also growing rapidly. LSCUS recently secured long-term busduct supply contracts worth more than 5 trillion won in total with global tech giants, establishing itself as a key supplier in the U.S. AI data center power infrastructure market.

As a result, Gaon Cable has built a business capable of supplying both cables for external power grids and busducts for internal power distribution at AI data centers.

“We plan to strengthen our local business base in the U.S. and develop the AI power infrastructure market into a key growth driver,” said Gaon Cable CEO Jung Hyun. “With the expansion of the AI data center and renewable energy power grid markets, we expect to achieve record-high results this year.”

Fueled by growth in high-value-added markets such as AI data center power infrastructure, Gaon Cable posted record-high results in the first quarter of this year. Revenue and operating profit rose 19.4% and 27.2%, respectively, from a year earlier.
