Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Development Corporation (Acting President Kang Seong-hun) said it is stepping up its push into the North American market by ramping up exports of Jeju Samdasoo to the U.S. East Coast.
The corporation confirmed exports of Jeju Samdasoo, clean volcanic bedrock water from Jeju, to the U.S. East Coast. The first shipment, totaling about 40 tons, departed on June 22.
The shipment is expected to be sold mainly in New York and New Jersey, key markets in the northeastern United States. As a major market where global consumer trends spread quickly, New York is an important first foothold for Jeju Samdasoo to reach consumers on the East Coast.
Local distribution will be handled through H Mart stores in the region, part of the largest Asian supermarket chain in the Americas. Jeju Development Corporation plans to promote the clean, crisp taste and balanced mineral content of Jeju’s volcanic bedrock water to a broad range of consumers, including both Korean Americans and other U.S. consumers.
The move into the U.S. East Coast market is expected to help Jeju Samdasoo strengthen its position as a premium global bottled water brand. Starting with New York and New Jersey, the corporation plans to expand its reach across the East Coast and gradually add sales hubs across North America.
Kang Seong-hun, acting president of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Development Corporation, said, “Entering the U.S. East Coast market is an important step in expanding Jeju Samdasoo’s reach among consumers worldwide. We will continue to expand our overseas distribution network and introduce more consumers to Jeju Samdasoo’s quality and value.”
